Description

I am looking for a proactive and organised Transport Planner to join a busy logistics team. You'll be responsible for planning and coordinating the general haulage fleet (rigid & artic), ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant deliveries.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Create and manage efficient daily and weekly transport plans
Assign jobs to drivers based on availability, legal hours, and vehicle suitability
Keep drivers and customers informed with clear, timely communication
Track deliveries using TMS and GPS, ensuring everything runs smoothly
Tackle delays or issues head-on to keep operations on track
Ensure all transport activities meet legal and compliance standards

What You Bring to the Role:

Solid experience in transport or traffic planning (general haulage/logistics ideal)
Strong understanding of UK transport laws and road networks
Confident using TMS, route planning tools, and Microsoft Office
Excellent communicator with a calm, problem-solving mindset
Self-starter with ambition to grow and take initiative
Flexible and reliable - willing to be on-call as part of a rota

Desirable:

CPC in Transport Management
