💷 Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits

About the Company

Our client is a well-established organisation operating within the distribution sector, renowned for its commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and customer service. Due to continued growth and internal progression, they are looking to appoint an experienced Transport Planner to join their dynamic logistics team.

Role Overview

As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective planning and coordination of transport operations. You will be responsible for optimising delivery routes, managing daily logistics schedules, and supporting fleet compliance—helping to ensure goods are delivered on time and in line with company service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules to meet delivery targets and customer expectations

*

Optimise routes for cost, time, and fuel efficiency using transport planning software

*

Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, and customer service to ensure smooth transport operations

*

Monitor transport KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

*

Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding driver hours, vehicle maintenance, and documentation

*

Handle transport-related issues, including delays or vehicle breakdowns, and implement contingency plans

*

Maintain strong communication with internal departments and external partners

Key Requirements

*

Proven experience in a Transport Planner or similar role

*

Background in manufacturing, logistics, or distribution is highly desirable

*

Strong understanding of UK road transport regulations and compliance requirements

*

Proficiency in transport planning tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

*

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills

*

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
