Description

Commissioning Engineer/ Commissioning Consultant required for a major Offshore Wind Developer based in Germany.

Responsibilities

Lead on-site installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and start-up activities for pressurised alkaline electrolyser
Ensure proper integration with Balance of Plant (BoP), process instrumentation, automation, and safety systems.
Consult on functional and performance testing, including leak checks, safety verifications, and system optimization.
Interface with engineering, OEMs, and control room teams to ensure technical alignment and smooth handover.
Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, including procedures, protocols, reports, and test results.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
Ensure compliance with hydrogen safety protocols, environmental standards, and local regulations.
Support operator training and contribute to knowledge transfer for long-term plant operation.

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical, Process, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent technical training).
Demonstrated experience in commissioning and start-up of alkaline electrolysers.
Proven involvement in green hydrogen projects.
Solid understanding of hydrogen safety, high-pressure gas systems, and process control integration.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical and instrumentation drawings, and technical documentation
