Quantity Surveyor, Helsinki, Finland

Our client is a leading specialist in delivering data centre solutions across Europe. They are currently looking to hire an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team in Finland on a full-time, on-site basis.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs and financial value for a project or specific project elements.

Key Responsibilities

Working with the senior project team to secure key subcontract packages and other crucial elements of the project.

Creating quantified work packages, invitation to tenders (ITTs), and budgets from technical documents. This includes the analysis and presentation of tender returns.

Preparing and finalising subcontract documents.

Managing the commercial aspects of multiple subcontract packages, from the initial order through to the final account. This includes monthly payments, as well as managing variations and claims.

Continuously monitoring costs and financial entitlements for your designated packages and projects.

Engaging actively with all stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, designers, and the internal team.

Submitting commercial documentation that is compliant with contractual requirements.

Developing, submitting, and agreeing on external valuations.

Negotiating and agreeing on variations, omissions, and final accounts with subcontractors and clients in a timely and professional manner.

Providing regular cost/value and cash flow reports.

Proactively working to resolve any conflicts that may arise.

Supervising and supporting the development of more junior members of the commercial team.

Candidate Requirements

A relevant degree and a minimum of five years' experience within a main or specialist contracting environment, with a particular focus on mechanical and electrical works.

A strong technical understanding of MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) installations and processes.

Familiarity with various methods of measurement.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective business relationships.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong budgeting and financial forecasting skills.

Experience with Buildsoft, CostX, or similar software is an advantage.

Experience in the data centre industry is also advantageous.
