The Role

As an Art Teacher at our grammar school, you will be responsible for teaching students across Key Stages 3 to 5, delivering a dynamic art curriculum that inspires students to explore their creativity and refine their artistic skills. Your role will involve both practical and theoretical lessons, encouraging students to express themselves through various media such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Delivering Lessons: Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality art lessons across a broad range of mediums, ensuring that students of all abilities are challenged and supported.

Fostering Creativity: Encourage students to experiment with different artistic techniques and ideas, helping them develop both their technical skills and creative thinking.

Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess students’ progress and provide constructive, encouraging feedback that helps them refine their work and further develop their skills.

Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues within the Art Department and across the school to share best practices, resources, and ideas.

Extra-Curricular Activities: Support and lead extra-curricular initiatives such as art clubs, exhibitions, and creative projects, giving students opportunities to showcase their work outside the classroom.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications: A degree in Art or a related subject, along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), is required.

Experience: We welcome applications from early career Art Teachers (ECTs), although experience teaching Art at GCSE and A-level is preferred.

Passion for Art: You should have a deep passion for the arts and a genuine desire to inspire students to reach their creative potential.

Collaborative Approach: As part of a close-knit team, you will need to work well with others, contributing to a supportive and positive school environment.
