The Role

As an experienced Art Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, including A-level Art. You will deliver a diverse and engaging art curriculum that challenges students to develop their skills in a range of media, from traditional techniques such as painting and drawing to modern digital art forms. Your role will involve inspiring students to push the boundaries of their creativity while ensuring high standards of technical and artistic achievement.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Delivering Lessons: Plan and deliver inspiring art lessons across multiple levels, including Key Stage 3, 4, and A-level, ensuring that students are engaged, challenged, and supported.

Fostering Creativity and Independence: Encourage students to experiment with various artistic techniques and develop their own creative voices, while fostering independent thinking and personal growth.

*

Assessment and Feedback: Provide regular formative and summative assessments, offering constructive feedback to help students improve and refine their work, ensuring they reach their full potential.

*

Mentoring and Support: Mentor students, particularly those studying art at A-level, guiding them through their projects, preparing portfolios, and helping them make informed decisions about further education or career paths.

Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and colleagues to share ideas, resources, and best practices, maintaining a collaborative and high-performing team dynamic within the Art Department.

Extra-Curricular Activities: Lead and support extra-curricular initiatives such as art clubs, exhibitions, workshops, and other creative projects, providing students with opportunities to showcase their talents beyond the classroom.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications: A degree in Art or a related subject, along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification.

Experience: Significant experience teaching Art at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and A-level, with a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes for students.

Passion for Art: A deep passion for the arts and a commitment to inspiring students to achieve excellence in their creative pursuits.

Strong Leadership Skills: The ability to lead by example and support students in their artistic development while maintaining high standards of discipline and engagement.
