Teacher of French - Full-Time, Permanent Position

We are seeking an inspiring and passionate Teacher of French to join our thriving Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department from September 2025. At our esteemed independent school in Cambridge, we are dedicated to fostering linguistic fluency, cultural understanding, and a lifelong appreciation for French language and Francophone cultures. This is a superb and permanent opportunity for an engaging educator to ignite enthusiasm in bright, articulate students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE French), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level French).

Your Role and Responsibilities:

* You will deliver engaging and challenging French lessons that cultivate strong linguistic skills across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

* You will immerse students in French culture, history, and contemporary society, enriching their global perspective.

* You will meticulously prepare students for success in public examinations, fostering both academic excellence and genuine communicative competence.

* You will provide insightful and constructive feedback, guiding students to refine their grammatical accuracy and expressive fluency.

* You will contribute actively to our rich extracurricular programme, such as French film clubs, debating societies, and potential language exchange trips to France.

Who We Are Looking For:

* You will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent, relevant teaching qualification.

* You will possess a strong academic degree in French or a related subject.

* You will have proven experience teaching French successfully across all key stages, with a particular strength in A-Level preparation.

* You will demonstrate native or near-native fluency in French, alongside excellent subject knowledge and innovative pedagogical approaches.

* You will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a dynamic and immersive classroom environment.
