The Opportunity:

An outstanding primary school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their team for the 2025 academic year. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a school that places a strong emphasis on academic excellence, creativity, and a holistic approach to education. The successful candidate will have the chance to support Year 2 pupils as they build on their foundational skills and prepare for Key Stage 2. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, delivering high-quality lessons that inspire and engage young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated lessons in line with the Year 2 National Curriculum, focusing on academic, social, and emotional development.

*

Use a variety of assessment tools to monitor pupil progress, provide constructive feedback, and ensure that every student reaches their full potential.

*

Create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.

*

Collaborate with other teachers, teaching assistants, and school leadership to ensure a consistent approach to curriculum delivery and pupil support.

*

Maintain strong communication with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child’s progress and fostering positive relationships within the school community.

*

Take an active role in school life, including participating in extracurricular activities, school events, and ongoing professional development.

Person Specification:

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

*

Strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and experience in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that cater to the needs of all learners.

*

Proven ability to assess and track pupil progress, adjusting teaching methods to ensure the success of every child.

*

Excellent classroom management skills, with a focus on creating a positive, focused, and inclusive learning environment.

*

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

*

A passion for teaching, a commitment to professional development, and a dedication to making a difference in students’ lives.
