A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Reception Teacher to join a highly supportive primary school in Birmingham from September 2025. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping young learners' early academic experiences, ensuring they are prepared for the next stage of their educational journey. Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, ensuring a balanced approach to academic and emotional development.

*

Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and a love for learning.

*

Use a variety of assessment methods to monitor children’s progress, providing constructive feedback to both children and parents.

*

Foster strong relationships with parents and carers, maintaining regular communication on their child’s development and achievements.

*

Collaborate closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, and the school leadership team to ensure consistent, high-quality teaching across the reception year.

*

Contribute to the wider school community, participating in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.

Person Specification:

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant recognised teaching qualification in Early Years education.

*

In-depth knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and experience teaching Reception-aged children.

*

A strong commitment to creating an engaging, nurturing, and well-managed classroom that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of children.

*

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

*

A passion for early years education and a commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for children to thrive.

*

Experience of assessing children’s progress and implementing targeted support for individual learning needs.
