The Opportunity:

A welcoming and high-performing primary school in the Royal Borough of Greenwich is looking to appoint a dedicated and imaginative Year 1 Teacher to join its team in September 2025. Key Responsibilities:

Deliver stimulating and well-structured lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum, supporting pupils in their transition from EYFS to more formal learning.

*

Apply consistent and purposeful assessment strategies to monitor progress and ensure all learners are challenged and supported effectively.

*

Develop a warm, well-organised, and inspiring classroom environment that celebrates diversity and supports each child's unique journey.

*

Engage in joint planning and moderation with year group colleagues to maintain high standards and share best practices.

*

Build strong relationships with families, recognising them as key partners in their child’s educational experience.

*

Contribute actively to the wider school community, including involvement in clubs, assemblies, and school celebrations.

Person Specification:

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised qualification.

*

Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 or demonstrable understanding of its key principles, including phonics and early literacy development.

*

Commitment to nurturing confident, curious, and independent learners through engaging, inclusive practice.

*

Ability to use creative teaching methods and adapt learning to meet a range of needs and abilities.

*

Strong organisational skills with a proactive, flexible approach to teamwork and whole-school engagement.

*

Effective interpersonal skills, with a passion for building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

*

A reflective practitioner who values feedback and professional growth within a supportive and ambitious school environment.
