About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our influential and collaborative Board as a Governor. We are looking for two (2) experienced individuals to work with our Chair and colleagues to help drive forward our mission and strategic vision to provide an exceptional, student-centred experience. Our Board of Governors 'who's who' can be found on our website.
To do this, we want to ensure that we have the right balance of skills on our Board; as such we are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
* Digital expertise
* Education/Research
We have five distinctive regional UK campuses at ARU Cambridge, Chelmsford, London, Peterborough, and Writtle.
You will demonstrate and possess the independence to make a significant strategic contribution to board discussions, and the ability to work with others maintaining effective working relationships. We will consider those for whom this would be their first Board position but evidencing an understanding and appreciation for the remit of the role will be essential. Connections to the regions in which we operate would be advantageous but are by no means essential.
The Board normally meets six times a year involving two (2) in person strategic away days and four (4) Board meetings with some on campus and some online via Teams. We offer reasonable travel expenses for all board members.
Note: These appointments are non-pay volunteer board positions.
We value diversity at ARU and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
