Description

Electrical Engineer (Power Generation)
Nationwide | Field Based Role
£50,000 to £55,500 + Overtime (OTE £65k) + Van

NEOS Engineering are partnered with a leading name in sustainable power generation and energy solutions, looking to bring an experienced Electrical Engineer (Power Generation) on board to support and enhance their growing portfolio of gas peaker and renewable energy sites nationwide.

This is an amazing opportunity for a talented engineer who thrives on variety — from electrical maintenance to commissioning new generation assets, no two days will be the same. If you’re big on autonomy, enjoy rolling your sleeves up, and love seeing projects through from paper to power, keep reading.

Key Responsibilities:

Take ownership of day-to-day operations and maintenance of generation assets — diagnosing faults, carrying out services, repairs, upgrades, and replacements as needed.
Interrogate and resolve control system and sequence issues, ensuring safe and efficient plant operations.
Coordinate and maintain company NICEIC accreditation and ensure fire and gas testing complies with up-to-date regulations.
Support the delivery of fully commissioned and tested gas peaker projects alongside the Projects team.
Develop and deliver training and manuals to boost team capability and drive continuous improvement in electrical and control systems.
Uphold quality, compliance, and health & safety standards in all activities.
Manage your own schedule effectively, balancing planned works with reactive issues and on-call support.
Requirements:

Solid experience in electrical maintenance, control systems, and commissioning — ideally within CHP, gas engine, or renewable generation (CAT, Perkins, MAN, MWM, MTU, Merc, Scania experience a big plus).
Confident working with low to high voltage equipment (12v DC to 415v AC 3ø) and capable of fault-finding at PLC and logic level.
Recognised qualifications: 18th Edition, EIT 2391:52, HV AP/SAP and ideally Gassafe (or prepared to gain this within probation).
Practical knowledge of current legislation and NICEIC standards.
UK driving licence and passport are essential — this role covers sites nationwide.
Self-starter attitude, able to juggle multiple priorities and work independently.
What’s on Offer:

Competitive basic salary £50,000 to £55,500 + Overtime (OTE £65k) + Van
Overtime available.
Ongoing training and development with clear pathways to enhance your skills and grow within the company.
Nationwide travel with plenty of autonomy and variety.
A forward-thinking employer committed to growth, sustainability, and the development of its people.

Please apply with an up-to-date CV and feel free to include a short cover letter explaining why this role is right for you.
