Music Teacher (Performance & Composition Specialist) - Full-Time, Permanent

Are you an exceptional and highly skilled Music Teacher with a proven track record in nurturing outstanding performers and innovative composers? Our incredible independent school in Colchester, Essex, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated educator for a full-time, permanent Music Teacher role, commencing September 2025. We seek someone who can inspire our talented students across Key Stage 3 to A-Level, pushing the boundaries of their musical expression and technical proficiency.

What Your Role Will Entail:

* You will deliver inspirational Music lessons, with a strong focus on practical performance, advanced composition techniques, and sophisticated musical analysis, particularly at GCSE and A-Level.

* You will provide bespoke guidance to our most able musicians, preparing them for high-level examinations, auditions, and university/conservatoire applications.

* You will lead and develop specific musical ensembles or compositional projects, contributing to our rich and varied co-curricular programme.

* You will integrate cutting-edge music technology into your teaching, supporting students in contemporary music creation and production.

* You will assess student work rigorously, offering detailed and actionable feedback that fosters rapid progress and deep understanding.

We're Looking For:

* You will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.

* You will possess a strong degree in Music, with demonstrable expertise in performance and/or composition.

* You will have extensive experience teaching Music across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level).

* You will be an outstanding musician and educator, with the ability to inspire a diverse range of musical talents.

* You will have excellent organisational skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to collaborative working.
