Job Title: HGV Mechanic
Salary: £20 – £22.50 per hour
Employment Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday (48 hours per week)

Job Overview:
An exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced HGV Mechanic to join a skilled and committed team. This role involves independent work preparing commercial vehicles for handovers, carrying out inspections, and performing a range of mechanical duties to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

* Independently prepare vehicles for customer handovers and perform pre-delivery inspections to a high standard.

* Conduct 6-week checks and prepare vehicles for MOT.

* Test, commission, and repair hook-loader and skip-loader equipment.

* Perform repairs on lorry loader cranes.

* Attend customer sites and local breakdowns to carry out minor repairs, helping maintain fleet performance and reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

* Level 3 qualification in HGV mechanics.

* Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence.

* Ability to work independently and use own initiative.

* Experience in LOLER testing for skip and hook equipment.

* Familiarity with a range of HGV body types.

* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

* A collaborative, team-oriented attitude with a proactive and solution-focused approach.

* Excellent multitasking skills.

Desirable Skills:

* HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.

* Experience with hydraulic systems and lorry loader cranes
