Year 1 Teacher – Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire and challenge Year 1 pupils.

* Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that encourages a love for learning.

* Assess, monitor, and support student progress, providing feedback and setting achievable targets.

* Encourage children to develop independence and critical thinking skills.

* Work closely with colleagues to ensure high-quality curriculum delivery and share effective teaching practices.

* Take part in staff meetings, training, and wider school activities, contributing to the school community.

Year 1 Teacher – Person Specification

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

* A degree in Education or a relevant subject.

* Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, particularly Year 1, is desirable.

* Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective assessment methods.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to differentiate learning and meet the needs of diverse learners.

* A collaborative team player committed to creating an inclusive classroom.

* Dedication to ongoing professional development and reflective teaching.
