Welsh-Speaking Cover Supervisor – Secondary School – Cardiff – Full-Time

Job Type: Full-Time (term-time)

Salary: £110–£120 per day (dependent on experience)

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a Fluent Welsh-Speaking Cover Supervisor to work full-time at a secondary school in Cardiff starting September 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in teaching, youth work, or education support. Candidates from a sports background are particularly encouraged to apply, though this is not essential.

✅ Key Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-set lessons across a variety of subjects in the absence of the classroom teacher
Manage classroom behaviour and support student engagement
Work closely with teaching staff and SLT to ensure continuity of learning
Support learners aged 11–16 across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

Requirements:

Fluent Welsh speaker
Previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils (e.g., in education, coaching, youth work)
Strong classroom presence and excellent communication skills
Enthusiastic, adaptable, and confident managing whole-class settings
A sports coaching background is desirable, but not required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
