About Us:

Horizon Teachers is working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Kingston to find a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time role, working from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, supporting children on a one-to-one and small group basis supporting students to access the EYFS National curriculum. The school has a caring, inclusive atmosphere where staff and pupils feel valued and can make a real difference.

The Role:
We're looking for someone who is patient, understanding, and passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive. As a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be working closely with children who need extra support with their learning, behaviour, or emotional development. You'll help create a positive learning environment, working alongside teachers to adapt activities and provide encouragement, guidance, and a steady presence in their day-to-day school life.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting KS1 children with special educational needs including Autism and ADHD, both in small groups and one-to-one basis
Supporting the planning and delivery of activities tailored to each child's needs
Creating a safe, calm, and engaging learning space
Working closely with teachers, parents, and the school's SENCO to support each child's progress
Encouraging emotional and social development alongside academic learning across all core subject areas
