Are you a newly qualified Food Technology ECT looking for your first permanent teaching role in a warm, well-supported, and creative school? A thriving and inclusive secondary school in Bournemouth is welcoming applications from trainee Food Technology teachers for a full-time position starting in September 2025.

This Food Technology ECT role is part of a dynamic Design & Technology faculty and offers access to state-of-the-art kitchens, supportive colleagues, and a student body that enjoys hands-on, skills-based learning.

Key responsibilities for this Food Technology ECT position include:

Teaching engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

*

Developing students’ culinary skills, knowledge of nutrition, and food hygiene awareness

*

Planning and delivering lessons that encourage creativity and healthy living

*

Supporting students with coursework and assessments in line with national standards

*

Working with DT colleagues to integrate food with broader STEM themes

*

Participating in ECT induction and targeted professional development

*

Encouraging participation in cooking clubs, competitions, and community events

*

Helping create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment

We welcome applications from Food Technology ECTs who:

Have a degree in a relevant field (Food, Nutrition, Hospitality, etc.) and are completing QTS in 2025

*

Are passionate about teaching food and the life skills it imparts

*

Bring strong subject knowledge and a love for practical teaching

*

Are motivated to contribute to wider school life and learning beyond the classroom
