Are you a committed and knowledgeable Chemistry ECT ready to start your teaching journey in a well-respected and ambitious school? A high-performing secondary school in Cheltenham is seeking a talented Chemistry ECT to join their science department in September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent role ideal for a Chemistry specialist completing their training this year.

This school is known for its inclusive ethos, academic excellence, and exceptional teacher development. As a Chemistry ECT, you will join a collaborative Science faculty with outstanding leadership and access to excellent lab facilities and schemes of work.

As a Chemistry ECT, you will:

Deliver exciting and structured Chemistry lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach KS5

*

Develop student confidence in practical work, investigations, and scientific thinking

*

Plan lessons that challenge and support a wide range of learners

*

Participate in Science Week, enrichment clubs, and STEM events

*

Receive regular, high-quality mentoring from experienced science staff

*

Engage with CPD sessions tailored to your early career development

*

Be supported with a structured and proven induction programme

*

Contribute to a culture of curiosity, respect, and achievement in the Science department

Ideal Chemistry ECT candidates will:

*

Hold a Chemistry or related degree and be on track to achieve QTS

*

Be passionate about sharing knowledge and making Chemistry accessible

*

Be enthusiastic, reflective, and willing to engage in school life

*

Understand the challenges and joys of teaching Chemistry at secondary level

Launch your teaching career as a Chemistry ECT in a school where scientific learning and personal growth are equally valued
