Are you an ambitious and imaginative Art ECT looking for the perfect first teaching role? A welcoming and community-focused secondary school in Yeovil is seeking an Art ECT to join their highly regarded Art & Design department from September 2025.

This school encourages all students to express themselves creatively and supports a rich curriculum in the arts. As an Art ECT, you will be mentored by experienced practitioners, take part in CPD sessions, and be fully supported through your induction years.

The Art ECT role will include:

Teaching engaging and diverse Art lessons across KS3 and KS4

*

Supporting students in building strong GCSE portfolios and practical skills

*

Encouraging creativity through a wide range of media and techniques

*

Participating in school art exhibitions and local arts events

*

Helping maintain and organise art rooms, materials, and displays

*

Collaborating with other teachers to share ideas and best practice

*

Taking part in your ECT induction and whole-school development sessions

*

Fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom culture

The successful Art ECT will:

*

Hold a degree in Art or Fine Art and be completing teacher training in 2025

*

Have strong practical art skills and a creative, confident approach to teaching

*

Be excited to learn and grow professionally in a collaborative environment

*

Have a genuine passion for nurturing creativity in young people
