Description

SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time (Sept–Dec)
📍 Coventry | Secondary School
💰 Term-Time Role – Competitive Weekly Pay
🕒 Full-Time | September Start

This isn’t just a stopgap – it’s a chance to genuinely make a difference.

We’re working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Coventry that’s looking for a confident and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH needs from September through to December. This is a full-time, term-time role supporting students with SEMH needs – particularly where this shows up as communication and interaction challenges in the classroom.

🎓 Are you a graduate ready to put your skills into practice?
This role is ideal for recent graduates in Psychology, Youth Work, Education, or Social Work – or anyone with a Level 3+ qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning or SEND. If you’ve worked with young people before, especially in a school, that’s a big plus.

🧠 The Role
You’ll be supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them navigate social interactions, manage emotions, and feel understood in a fast-paced secondary school environment. These students are bright, unique, and full of potential – they just need someone in their corner.

You’ll be working closely with experienced pastoral and SEN staff, so you’re never left on your own – teamwork is key here.

👥 Why You'll Love It Here

The school has a strong culture of inclusion, with a real focus on behaviour, relationships, and consistency. You’ll join a warm, supportive team where your input is valued, and where every day brings the chance to help a young person take a step forward – even if it’s a small one. Staff here look out for each other, and you’ll be part of a group that genuinely cares.

✅ What They’re Looking For

*

A degree in Psychology, Education, Youth Work, Social Work – or a Level 3+ qualification in Childcare, Supporting Teaching & Learning, or SEND

*

A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs

*

Experience working with children or teens (in schools, youth clubs, or similar settings)

*

Confidence, compassion, and the ability to stay calm under pressure

*

A team player with a proactive, positive attitude

This is a full-time role for the autumn term (September to December), with potential for extension depending on the school’s needs.
