Learning Support Assistant - Speech & Language Focus - New Malden
Location: New Malden, South West London
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £100-£120 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only - Ongoing with long-term potential

Are you experienced in supporting students with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN)? Do you have a passion for helping young people express themselves and succeed in school? We're recruiting on behalf of a warm, inclusive mainstream secondary school in New Malden seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team this September.

About the Role:

In this role, you will support students across KS3 and KS4 who have identified communication needs. This may include:

Supporting students with speech and language difficulties in class and in small groups

Working closely with the SENCO, SALT team, and teaching staff to implement communication-focused support plans

Promoting confidence, independence and inclusion within the classroom

Adapting resources and using visual or language-based strategies to aid learning

About You:

We're looking for someone who:

Has prior experience supporting students with SLCN or communication difficulties

Understands how to implement speech and language strategies in a classroom context

Has strong interpersonal skills and a calm, encouraging manner

Is confident working 1:1 or in small groups with students across key stages

Elklan training is a huge bonus - if you've completed Elklan Level 2 or 3, we'd love to hear from you!
