Role: HAZMAT & CBRN Technician / Firefighter

Location: Offshore

Salary: £50k-£60k, Car or Car allowance, and Offshore Allowance

The Role:

The HAZMAT & CBRN Technician / Firefighter is a highly trained emergency responder responsible for hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) incident management alongside firefighting duties in an offshore environment. Employed by a UK-based private emergency services provider operating offshore, this role ensures the safety of personnel and protection of the marine environment through rapid response to fires, chemical spills, and CBRN events

Ideal Candidate

Experience should include hands-on emergency response to fires and chemical incidents, preferably in industrial, military, or offshore environments (desirable).

Experience in both hazardous materials response and firefighting roles.

Firefighter Certification: UK-recognised Firefighter I/II certification (e.g. NFPA 1001 Firefighter I/II or equivalent).

HAZMAT Certification: Certification to NFPA 472 (Hazardous Materials Technician level) or an equivalent HAZMAT responder qualification. This attests to proficiency in containing and mitigating hazardous substance releases at a technician level

HAZWOPER Training: Completion of HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) training (40-hour certification) or an equivalent, covering safe cleanup of hazardous waste, emergency response operations, and use of HAZMAT PPE.

Offshore rotation of approximately 3–4 weeks on duty offshore, followed by a similar period of leave onshore
