Description

Currently seeking an experienced Joinery Project Manager on behalf of our client, a specialist joinery manufacturer based in Leicester. This is a key role overseeing bespoke joinery projects from design development through to installation, ensuring quality, programme, and client expectations are met.

Main Responsibilities:

* Maintain overall responsibility for allocated projects from site survey through to installation and client handover.

* Participate in detailed project handovers from Estimating, ensuring clear understanding of scope, materials, and key requirements.

* Coordinate closely with architects, clients, contractors, draughtspersons, and internal manufacturing to ensure accurate design development and timely delivery.

* Manage and maintain project files and programmes, oversee drawing reviews and redlining, and ensure all drawings, samples, and technical submissions are accurate and issued on time.

* Attend regular site visits to monitor installation progress, quality of works, adherence to programme, and resolution of on-site issues.

* Handle procurement of specialist items (e.g. glass, Corian, metalwork), and manage external subcontract works when needed.

* Ensure O&M manuals, “as built” drawings, and compliance documentation are prepared and submitted correctly.

* Identify and report variations, ensuring these are priced and formally submitted to the main contractor for approval.

Key Skills & Requirements:

* Solid experience in joinery manufacturing or the shopfitting industry, ideally with practical bench joinery knowledge.

* Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to multitask across design, procurement, production, and site activities.

* Confident communicator with excellent organisation and the ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment.

* Capable of identifying critical path items and long lead times, and working with production to prioritise accordingly.

* Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D/3D beneficial; ability to interpret and review technical drawings essential.

* Understanding of health & safety, environmental, and quality control procedures, with commitment to professional standards
