SEN Teaching Assistant | Full-time Monday to Friday (8:30am-4pm) | Nunhead | £89 – £105 PAYE | Immediate Start

Ortus recruitment are looking for a SEN teaching assistant to support the head teacher and the children in the classroom, especially those with special educational needs and disabilities. If you are interested in this position, then please read on.

About the Role:

* As a teaching assistant, you will aid the teachers in using their creativity to maximise students' learning and development while tailoring instruction to their individual requirements.

* As a special education needs teaching assistant, you will work with a variety of students, particularly one-on-one sessions with SEN students, providing them with individualised support and assistance throughout the school day.

* For a teaching assistant who wants to pursue a career in education and is driven to encourage learning in students with a variety of complicated needs, this is an excellent opportunity. We are seeking a Teaching Assistant who can work with both individual and small groups of children, set up classrooms and resources, and maintain good relationships with students. In addition to providing teachers with classroom/admin support, teaching assistants have the chance to help with planning class activities and creating an engaging learning environment.

Previous experience working with SEN children is desired!

Requirements:

* Previous experience working 1:1 or in groups with children.

* Previous experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities

* A genuine desire and passion for working with children.

* Ability to be flexible and adaptable to different environments and difficult behaviours.

* Good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to create relationships with teachers, children and parents.

* Sensitivity, patience, empathy and problem-solving skills when it comes to handling difficult situations.
