Job Title: Electrically Biased Maintenance Technician
Location: South Sheilds
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000

Working Hours:
Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

Job Description:
You will play a key role in minimising downtime and maintaining smooth production by performing both planned and reactive maintenance on a range of electrical and mechanical systems. Your responsibilities will include:

* Carrying out electrical and some mechanical maintenance, fault finding and repairs

* Performing preventative maintenance and contributing to continuous improvement efforts

* Updating and producing electrical circuit diagrams

* Working with PLCs and control systems

* Supporting apprentices and junior team members

* Collaborating with departments to reduce disruption and maintain service quality

* Ensuring all work is carried out safely and to high standards

Skills & Experience:
Essential:

* Time-served in an electrical discipline

* Experience in electrical fault finding & repair within a production/manufacturing environment

* City & Guilds 18th Edition

* Knowledge of PUWER regulations and panel wiring

* Strong communication skills and attention to detail

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Commitment to LEAN principles and continuous improvement

* Clean UK driving licence

Desirable:

* Mechanical maintenance experience

* Experience with presses, CNC, laser machines

* Health & Safety qualifications

* Test & Inspection certification

* Experience with safety circuits
