Location: Hillingdon
Salary: £257 – £277 per day
Start Date: September 2025

Lead and Inspire as a Teaching Head of Year – English – Hillingdon

GSL Education is currently seeking a committed and experienced Teaching Head of Year – English to join a dynamic secondary school in Hillingdon. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine subject expertise with pastoral leadership, driving both academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4, adapting to diverse learner needs
• Provide strong pastoral leadership as Head of Year, supporting student wellbeing and behaviour
• Collaborate with teaching staff, SLT, and pastoral teams to maintain high standards
• Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement
• Support whole-school initiatives focused on engagement, inclusion, and progress

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) and strong experience teaching English at secondary level
• Proven track record of effective pastoral leadership or year group management
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education)
