Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: York (Full-Time, On-Site)

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic consultancy team based in York. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects within the leisure and healthcare sectors, delivering high-quality cost consultancy services across all project stages.

You will be involved in all aspects of cost management from feasibility through to final account, including cost planning, value engineering, procurement advice, and contract administration. This role is suited to a QS with strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, and a collaborative approach to client and project team engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and tender documentation

*

Full project lifecycle cost planning and cost control

*

Budget development and risk-based cost modelling

*

Preparation of detailed cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and cost-to-complete assessments

*

Contract administration and interim valuations

*

Change control and variations assessment

*

Value engineering and lifecycle costing

*

Client liaison, stakeholder management, and attendance at project meetings

*

Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and project specifications

*

Supporting junior staff and contributing to team knowledge-sharing

Role Requirements:

*

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role

*

Proven experience within a consultancy environment

*

Strong background in leisure and/or healthcare sector projects

*

High level of proficiency in BOQ preparation, cost planning, and cost reporting

*

Excellent analytical and numeracy skills with attention to detail

*

Confident in using industry-standard software (e.g., CostX, CATO, Excel)

*

Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills

*

Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

*

MRICS qualified or actively working towards chartership

*

Full UK driving licence
