SENCO - SEN School - Hackney

A welcoming SEN school in Hackney is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join their team. This full-time, permanent position is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about promoting inclusive education and supporting students with diverse learning needs.

The SENCO will play a key role in ensuring that all students receive the tailored support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Role Highlights:

Lead and manage the school's SEN provision, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
Provide training and support to staff on best practices for teaching and supporting SEN students, fostering a culture of inclusion within the school.
Monitor and assess the progress of students with SEN, using data to inform interventions and support strategies.
Facilitate regular communication with parents and caregivers to ensure they are engaged in their child's learning journey and understand the support available.Qualifications:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (such as the National Award for SEN Coordination).
Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive practices in education.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students alike.
A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with students and families, ensuring their needs are at the forefront of decision-making.
A clear DBS check is required to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.Application:
