Do you have the resilience, creativity, and drive to help young people overcome educational challenges and rediscover a love of learning? Academics is proud to be working with a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Lichfield to appoint a committed and dynamic English Teacher who can support learners with complex needs and deliver meaningful outcomes.

The Role:

As an English Teacher in this PRU setting, you will teach students across Key Stages 3 and 4 who may have experienced disrupted education due to SEMH needs, behavioural difficulties, or other barriers. Your role will be to design and deliver accessible, engaging English lessons that build confidence, boost literacy, and foster personal growth.

You'll become part of a collaborative and supportive team who work tirelessly to give each young person the tools and encouragement they need to succeed in education and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing:

Delivering well-structured English lessons that are tailored to individual learning levels.
Creating a safe, encouraging classroom environment that supports emotional and academic development.
Collaborating with teaching assistants, pastoral leads, and behaviour mentors.
Using assessment to track progress and shape future teaching.
Supporting pupils' wider personal, social, and emotional growth through restorative practice.Ideal Candidate:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Confident in teaching English at secondary level (KS3/KS4).
Previous experience in a PRU, SEMH, or alternative provision is highly valued.
Skilled in behaviour management and building rapport with vulnerable learners.
Compassionate, adaptable, and deeply committed to inclusive education.What We Offer:
