Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the School:

The school encompasses two sites in Dorchester with one common shared purpose: to provide the very best in education and support for all children who (for a variety of reasons) find themselves outside of mainstream school education. The school is an alternative provision that uses vocational and extracurricular methods to enable the students to gain functional and life skills. With a primary and secondary division, the school is inclusive of all ages and abilities and strives to give its pupils the best possible opportunities for post 16 life.

Key Responsibilities of ASD Teaching Assistant (ASD TA)

Tailored Support: Assist in the development and delivery of personalised learning plans.
Individual Attention: Provide one-on-one and small group support to help students thrive academically and socially.
Progress Tracking: Monitor student development and share insights with the teaching team.
Team Collaboration: Engage in regular meetings to refine strategies and share best practices.
Inclusive Learning: Promote a classroom culture where every student feels respected and included.
Creative Teaching: Use diverse methods to meet the unique needs of each learner.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress and behaviour.
Requirements for ASD Teaching Assistant (ASD TA)

Experience: Demonstrated experience working with children or young people with ASD.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to connect with students, families, and staff.
Empathy: A caring and patient approach to supporting students with additional needs.
Qualifications: Training in special education is a plus, but not essential.
