A large, Secondary SEN school in South East London is looking for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistants to join their expert team from September 2025.

Your Role as a SEN Teaching Assistant

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs to access learning, communicate effectively, and develop independence. You'll work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff in a classroom setting adapted to meet each child's specific needs.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Supporting students with a range of complex needs including ASD, PMLD, and sensory processing difficulties
Providing 1:1 and small group assistance during lessons and therapeutic activities
Using visual, sensory, and communication strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton) to enhance understanding
Assisting with personal care, physical support, and behaviour regulation as needed
Creating a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environmentWhat the School is Looking For
