Job Title: Teaching Assistant – SEN & SEMH Support
Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire
Salary: From £90 per day (with potential to increase)
Contract Type: Full-time and Part-time roles available
Start Date: Immediate / September 2025 start available

Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges? Do you thrive in a role where every day is different and your support truly makes a difference?

We are looking for committed and resilient Teaching Assistants to work with SEN and SEMH pupils across schools in the Grantham area. You will be supporting pupils with a range of needs in their day-to-day learning, helping to create a safe, supportive and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs

Help manage and support pupils presenting with challenging behaviour

Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCOs to adapt learning materials and approaches

Support pupils’ emotional regulation, social development and classroom engagement

Maintain a positive and patient approach to behaviour management

Candidate Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs is highly desirable

Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure

A caring, empathetic and resilient nature

Willingness to undertake enhanced DBS and all relevant safeguarding checks

Flexibility to work across different settings within the Grantham area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
