Description

An inclusive and rewarding secondary school in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a passionate Food Technology Teacher to join their DT department on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2025. This opportunity is open to both experienced Food Technology Teachers and Early Career Teachers looking to start their career in a supportive and well-equipped school.

The school is well-regarded for its commitment to practical and vocational learning, and the Food Technology Teacher will benefit from spacious, modern food preparation rooms and access to specialist equipment.

As a Food Technology Teacher, your duties will include:

Teaching Food Technology across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE-level classes

*

Planning lessons that build practical skills and nutritional understanding

*

Engaging students through hands-on, creative cooking tasks and challenges

*

Supporting students in coursework and controlled assessments

*

Encouraging healthy lifestyles and an understanding of global food cultures

*

Contributing to the DT curriculum and sharing best practices

*

Leading or supporting food clubs, competitions, and enrichment days

The ideal Food Technology Teacher will:

*

Hold a relevant degree and QTS or PGCE in Food Technology or a related subject

*

Be confident managing practical classes and promoting safety in the kitchen

*

Show a deep passion for food education and student development

*

Be willing to take part in wider school life and continuous professional learning
