Management Accountant

Location: Coventry

We're looking for a Management Accountant for a 6 month secondment to support the Device Distribution Team. This would be a great opportunity for a project manager who wants to get involved in an exciting venture, working on a unique type of project and with various delivery teams and external stakeholders as part of the Joint Venture (JV).

The Opportunity

Reporting into a Finance Manager you`ll hold a core role within our team. As our Management Accountant you`ll be responsible for the periodic Management Accounting process for specific activities, processes or team. You`ll manage the monthly reporting cycle for a defined business area. Working closely with Business Managers you`ll provide insight into financial performance. Alongside you`ll proactively review financial information and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.

Key accountabilities of the Management Account will include:

Ensuring that financial processes relevant to your area of responsibility are fit for purpose and operated in a consistent and controlled way
Providing comprehensive financial support to managers to make good, well informed financial decisions by forming close relationships with Cost Centre and/or Project Managers within the specific area of responsibility
Managing the collation, challenge and review of Budget, Forecast and Business Plan data with their area of responsibility
Working closely with peers to develop and improve processes within Finance
Managing the completion of any control activities relevant to your area of responsibility
Ensuring that employees with financial accountability within your area of responsibility understand the requirements of their role.What You'll Bring

Qualified accountant with a UK recognised body
Experience of working with technical and commercial professional staff and specialists
Expert at reporting Financial information
Good system skills with experience improving processes through the use of SAP functionality
Good written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills and the ability to influence and explain financial issues and results to business managers
Good financial & commercial acumen combined with relevant post-qualification experience in financial management
Ability to build productive relationships with managers across the business
Advanced at planning, forecasting and budgeting
Strong MS Excel skills
Skilled at financial and investment appraisal
Demonstrated ability to challenge the norm and develop new opportunities
Advanced at financial Systems (SAP is preferable but not essential)
Ability to demonstrate initiative and sound judgement
Skilled at process excellence & value creation
Strong decision making skills
Advanced at leveraging Systems & TechnologyInterested candidates should submit their CV in the first instance
