Freelance Assistant Site Manager – Housing Site 

Location: Gateshead, UK

Start Date: ASAP

Employment Type: Freelance/Contract

Rate: Competitive (dependent on experience)

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Assistant Site Manager to join our team on a busy residential housing development site in Gateshead. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to step into a key role on-site, supporting day-to-day operations and ensuring high standards of health, safety, and build quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Site Manager in overseeing site operations

Monitor progress and assist in the coordination of trades and subcontractors

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Carry out site inspections and quality checks

Maintain site records and assist with reporting

Requirements:

Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager on residential housing projects

SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid, and CSCS card (required)

Strong communication and organisational skills

Able to hit the ground running and work independently when needed

Own transport preferred
