Senior Calibration Engineer – Dorset – £36,000 - £42,000
 
We are seeking an experienced Calibration Engineer who is keen to take a step up into a Senior role, working with a growing business who have big plans for growth over the next couple of years. This role offers a fantastic career path for the right person into a Site Lead Engineering position.
 
Working within the company’s UKAS accredited laboratory, the Senior Calibration Engineer will be working in a fast paced and ever varied work environment. In role you would be expected to help and support less experienced engineers to upskill others whilst acting as a role model within the business.  

Senior Calibration Engineer’s Key Responsibilities:

Calibrate a wide range of precision measurement instruments in the UKAS-accredited laboratory, ensuring fast turnaround and high-quality results.
Support and mentor less experienced engineers, providing guidance on both UKAS standards and calibration procedures.
Develop result sheets, including defining measurement tolerances and calculating uncertainty budgets to meet accreditation standards.
Identify and implement new calibration methods and activities, enhancing the company’s service capabilities and technical offerings.
Collaborate across departments and meet deadlines, ensuring a high level of service delivery to internal and external customers.  
Skills & Experience Required as a Senior Calibration Engineer:

Technical Qualification -A Degree, HND, or equivalent in electronics, engineering, sciences, or a related field. Relevant industry experience may also be considered in place of formal qualifications.
UKAS and ISO Standards Knowledge - Proven experience working to ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001 standards, ideally within a UKAS-accredited calibration environment.
Metrology and Calibration Expertise - Strong hands-on experience with calibrating precision measurement instruments and test equipment across a broad range of disciplines.
Data Analysis and Documentation Ability to create and interpret result sheets, including setting measurement tolerances and calculating uncertainty budgets.
Software Proficiency - Competent in Microsoft Office 365 (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook) and the ability to adapt to bespoke or lab-specific software tools.
