Job Title: Senior Facade Designer
Location: Nottinghamshire (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £55,000 – £75,000 (Depending on Experience)
Specialism: Glazing and Aluminium Facade Systems

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Facade Designer to join our specialist team in Nottinghamshire. This hybrid role offers a balance between office-based collaboration and remote flexibility. You will lead the design and development of complex facade solutions—particularly focusing on glazing and aluminium curtain wall systems—across a range of commercial and residential projects in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Lead and deliver facade design packages from concept through to construction.

*

Prepare detailed technical drawings, elevations, sections, and schedules using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.

*

Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure design intent is met.

*

Oversee system detailing, thermal and structural analysis, and compliance with relevant building regulations and facade standards.

*

Provide technical support and mentoring to junior designers.

*

Conduct site visits and support project delivery during installation phases.

*

Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers on system capabilities and performance.

*

Ensure documentation and design output meets QA standards.

Requirements:

*

Proven experience (5+ years) in facade design, particularly with glazing and aluminium curtain walling systems.

*

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit or Rhino knowledge is a plus.

*

Solid understanding of facade performance criteria: structural, thermal, acoustic, and weatherproofing.

*

Excellent knowledge of UK building regulations, CWCT guidelines, and relevant standards.

*

Strong communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.

*

Degree or HNC/HND in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.

Desirable:

*

Chartership or working towards membership with the Society of Façade Engineering (SFE), IStructE, or similar.

*

Experience with parametric modelling or digital facade tools (e.g., Grasshopper, Dynamo).

*

Knowledge of sustainability in facade systems, including embodied carbon and passive design.
