Roofer to train on Solar – Overview

We are currently working with a Renewable Energy company based in Portsmouth area who are looking for Roofers who would be interested in training up on Solar PV installations to join their team. The business have been running since 2007 and have grown to a current turnover of £10million. They have experience massive growth in recent years and are looking to expand their offering of Solar PV Installations to their customers throughout Hampshire.

The business focus on ‘whole house retrofit’. They retrofit Heat Systems including Boilers and Heat Pumps, Insulation and Solar PV & Battery Storage. Your role will be attending domestic properties throughout mainly the Hampshire area (though they do go into Surrey and Berkshire on occasion) to install solar panels on private domestic properties. You will work alongside an Electrician with you cutting the tiles, attaching the railings and running the DC cables and the Electrician wiring up, testing and commissioning the system. You will only ever carry out 1 job per day.

They can offer you full training on installing Solar PV and Battery Systems and your salary will increase as you progress with the business. If you are interested, they can also train you up on other works such as assisting on Heat Pump installations and other works. You will also carry out remedial works when required on existing systems.

This is a mobile role so a full UK licence in required. They have a substantial amount of work in Havant, Portsmouth, Fareham, Gosport areas so someone local to their office would be advantageous.

Roofer to train on Solar – Requirements

* Experience installing Solar PV Systems on domestic properties

* Experience working on different roof types

* Full UK Driving Licence

Roofer to train on Solar – Salary & Remuneration

* Salary up to £35,000 - £36,000 (increasing with training)

* Company Van + Fuel Card

* Overtime

* Ongoing Training and upskilling on renewable energy systems

* 25 days Holiday + BH

* Tools, Uniform, PPE

* Sick Pay

* Pension
