Job Shop Recruitment has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to a successful team

This is an exciting role where you will assist in the design of bespoke marine

components, turning specifications into detailed designs ready for manufacture. This

position would suit an experienced design engineer with a passion for delivering tailored engineering solutions with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

The Role:

The design and development of marine shaft line components and propellers.

Create detailed designs primarily in 2D but also in 3D CAD under the guidance of the

engineering manager.

Establishing requirements with customers.

Collaborate with the Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing teams.

Skills:

Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD is essential, Solidworks desirable).

Experience of providing technical solutions to design challenges.

Confidence in working with projects of varying size, timeframe, and complexity.

Experience in design of components and assemblies (ideally, but not essentially within the marine industry).

Experience of design for manufacture with a knowledge of the production environment would be beneficial.

Familiarity with working with design codes and / or classification rules and regulations.

Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivery results under

tight deadlines.

Strong mathematical and numerical skills.

Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.

The ability to work well both individually and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.

The ability to effectively and clearly convey design information to others.

Flexible approach to work.

Passion for design and innovation.

3+ years of experience as a design engineer (preferably, but not essentially, in the

marine industry).
