SEN Teaching Assistant - Brixton Primary School - September 2025 Start
Pertemps Education is working in partnership with a primary school in Brixton to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant for a September 2025 start.
The provision supports a small group of 8 children with a high staff-to-pupil ratio of 4 adults, ensuring personalised and focused learning. The right candidate will have experience supporting children with SEN, and ideally, prior experience within Early Years or Reception settings.

Location: Brixton
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

About the Role:

Work as part of a highly supportive team within a specialist ARP setting for Early Years and Reception
Support a group of 8 pupils alongside 3 other adults, ensuring each child receives targeted, individualised attention
Assist with structured routines, personal care needs, and behaviour strategies
Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo
Create a warm, engaging, and safe environment to promote emotional regulation and early learning development
Liaise closely with families and external professionals to provide consistent and high-quality supportThe Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience supporting pupils with special educational needs, particularly within Early Years or Reception
Understand how to support children with complex needs including communication delays, sensory processing difficulties, and developmental delay
Be nurturing, patient, and adaptable to the changing needs of young learners
Be confident assisting with intimate care where required
Work effectively within a team and take initiative where appropriate
Be committed to creating inclusive, engaging learning experiences that support early developmentWhy Join This School?
