Job Opportunity: PMLD Learning Support Assistant
Location: Lewisham, South East London
Schedule: Monday to Friday | ? 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay: £97 - £115 per day (depending on experience)

Are you a compassionate and committed support professional looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with complex needs?

We are seeking a dedicated PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Learning Support Assistant to join a specialised SEN unit within a welcoming and inclusive school in Lewisham. The school provides a nurturing environment for students with severe autism, ADHD, physical disabilities (including wheelchair users), and those requiring personal care support.

Role Responsibilities:

Support students with a wide range of complex needs in a 1:1 and group setting

Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility needs

Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage independence and engagement

Deliver tailored life skills and sensory-based learning activities

Work collaboratively with class teachers, therapists, and other support staff

Ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of all students at all times

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEN, particularly PMLD and physical disabilities

Comfortable with personal care duties

A calm, empathetic, and patient approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
