Job Title: Individual Needs Assistant
Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex
Pay Rate: £90 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Start Date: Immediate

As an Individual Needs Assistant, you’ll play a key role in helping children with additional learning needs feel confident, included, and supported every day. You’ll work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive learning experience for every child.

Your Main Responsibilities

Support Learning: Assist students in the classroom, either one-on-one or in small groups, to help them engage with and enjoy their lessons.
Create a Safe Space: Ensure every child feels welcome, safe, and included.
Track Progress: Monitor student progress and share insights with teachers and parents.
Work as a Team: Collaborate with staff in meetings and planning sessions.
Encourage Growth: Support students in building confidence, independence, and social skills.
Stay Organised: Maintain clear records and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For

Experience: Previous experience in a similar role supporting children with learning difficulties.
Great Communicator: Able to communicate clearly and kindly with children, parents, and staff.
Caring Nature: Patient, understanding, and passionate about helping children succeed.
Team Player: Enjoys working collaboratively and sharing ideas.
Training (Desirable): Any relevant qualifications or training in disability or special needs support are a bonus.
To Work with GSL Education, You’ll Need

The right to work in the UK
An up-to-date CV with two references from the last 2 years
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one through us)
A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
