An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and passionate Art Teacher to join a vibrant and creative school in Abingdon, Oxfordshire from September 2025. This full-time, permanent position is open to both newly qualified and experienced teachers.

About the Art Department
The Art department is a popular and successful part of the school. Students benefit from well-lit studios, printmaking resources, digital editing suites, and a range of traditional and contemporary art tools. Regular exhibitions and art shows celebrate student work, and the department plays a leading role in shaping the creative ethos of the school.

About the Role
As an Art Teacher, your key responsibilities will include:
• Teaching Art across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity for KS5 depending on experience.
• Delivering inspiring lessons that encourage creative risk-taking and self-expression.
• Supporting students with sketchbooks, portfolios, and coursework.
• Contributing to the planning and development of an engaging and inclusive art curriculum.
• Organising trips, gallery visits, and creative enrichment projects.
• Creating an atmosphere in which students feel safe to experiment and grow as artists.

Experience and Qualifications
• A degree in Art, Fine Art, or a similar creative discipline.
• QTS or PGCE in Secondary Art & Design.
• Strong understanding of current art education practices.
• A commitment to celebrating diversity and encouraging artistic voice.

Salary
The salary for this role is paid to scale – MPS/UPS.
