A SEN teacher is needed for a special educational needs (SEN) school in North London for secondary school students aged 11-19.

As a SEN teacher, you will be working with students with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), including children with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD).

This school is easily accessible from around London, with great transport links.

Being a SEN teacher at this school, you will become part of a highly supportive team with exceptional senior leadership and fantastic resources.

Willingness to do personal care is preferred.

Your responsibilities as a SEN teacher may include:

Lesson planning and delivery for students with a range of learning difficulties and complex needs. This may include alternative teaching methods, such as Lego therapy and intensive interaction sessions.
Helping students to develop confidence and independence.
Implementing behaviour management techniques, which may include physical restraints, to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
Working with specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors, and psychologists
Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

To be a SEN teacher, you will need:

The right to work in the UK.
Early Career Teacher (ECT) with relevant experience will be considered.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or overseas trained teacher awaiting QTS.
A clear and up-to-date DBS
Experience working with young people with ASD.
A patient, caring attitude who can remain calm and supportive under pressure.
