Job Title: Building & Construction Project Leader

Location: Chester

Type: Full-Time, contract (6 months)

Belcan is seeking a Project Leader with a strong background in building and construction, who has worked client-side and understands what it takes to hire and manage construction companies effectively. If you're ready to take ownership of capital investment projects and see them through from feasibility to final handover, this could be the perfect role for you!

About

As a Project Leader, you'll be responsible for setting up and managing multi-functional project teams to deliver a wide range of building and refurbishment projects. You'll take the lead on everything from developing detailed design briefs and managing CAPEX business cases, to liaising with architects, engineers, and contractors. You'll be the driving force behind ensuring technical compliance, safety, and quality throughout the project lifecycle. Your ability to communicate clearly, manage risks, and maintain strong client relationships will be key to your success.

Essential Requirements

Client-side experience in construction project delivery.
Proven experience hiring and managing construction companies as a client.
Strong background in building and construction, particularly in refurbishment and plant replacement.
ONC/HNC or equivalent in Building Engineering Services or related discipline.
Demonstrable experience managing projects from feasibility to handover.
Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems in various building types.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint, G Suite).
Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE, IET).
