Job Title: Team Manager – Children’s Home

Location: Heathfield, East Sussex

Salary: £37,500

Role: Full-time, Permanent

We are thrilled to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Team Manager or Deputy Manager to join a passionate and dedicated team within a children's home in Heathfield, East Sussex. This role provides the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of young people, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and support in a safe, nurturing environment.



As a Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing a team of carers, ensuring the day-to-day operations of the home are effectively and efficiently delivered. You will work alongside the Registered Manager to help provide a stable, supportive, and enriching environment, guiding young people through their individual journeys of personal development and growth.

Key Responsibilities of the Team Manager:

Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the daily running of the children’s home, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people in our care.

Lead, motivate, and support a team of care staff, providing direction and guidance to ensure they deliver exceptional care.

Foster a positive and supportive environment where young people feel valued and empowered to achieve their potential.

Monitor and ensure that all care plans are followed, working with young people, their families, and external professionals to provide tailored support.

Ensure the home complies with all regulatory standards, safeguarding protocols, and quality assurance processes.

Assist in managing rotas, staff performance, and training, ensuring the team has the skills and knowledge required to provide outstanding care.

Act as a role model, leading by example in creating a positive, professional, and inclusive culture within the team.

Provide support during challenging situations and make decisions to maintain the emotional and physical well-being of the young people.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential; Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable.

Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a children’s residential setting.

Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding practices, and relevant legislation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, staff, and external stakeholders.

Experience of managing and supporting a team, with a hands-on approach to developing and mentoring staff.

Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with difficult or challenging situations.

A passion for supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential.
