Teaching Assistant - Cannock

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping children and young people with special educational needs (including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and MLD) access learning in a way that works for them. Whether working on a 1:1 basis or supporting small groups, you'll assist with both academic and emotional development, ensuring each child feels heard, included, and empowered to thrive.

You'll work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to create an environment where every pupil can flourish. From delivering structured interventions to supporting social skills development, no two days are the same-and every day brings the chance to support a child in achieving a goal.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with a range of SEND in classroom activities and tailored learning programmes
Implementing EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets through structured tasks
Helping to create and maintain a calm, nurturing learning space
Assisting with emotional regulation and behavioural management using positive reinforcement techniques
Encouraging pupils' independence and celebrating every step of progress
Building supportive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff alikeWhat We're Looking For:

Patient, adaptable, and able to remain calm in challenging situations
Passionate about inclusion and child-centred learning
Confident working with children who may have communication difficulties or behavioural needs
Able to follow guidance and contribute ideas as part of a wider team
