Location: Totton, Southampton
Start Date: September 2025
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time, with opportunities for long-term placements

Are you passionate about supporting young people in their learning journey? Do you want to make a real difference in the classroom? Teaching Personnel is currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join one of our fantastic partner secondary schools in the Totton area from September.

This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a supportive school setting, providing tailored assistance to students with a range of additional needs including SEN and SEMH.

What will the role involve?
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

Work closely with students on a 1:1 or small group basis to support their learning and development

Help to deliver lesson content alongside the class teacher, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum

Encourage independence and help build students' confidence and self-esteem

Support pupils with special educational needs and help manage any challenging behaviour

Contribute to a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment

Who are we looking for?
We welcome applications from individuals who are:

Experienced in working with secondary-aged pupils, especially those with additional learning needs

Patient, empathetic and confident in managing behaviour effectively

Knowledgeable about SEN and SEMH strategies (though full training is available)

Reliable, proactive, and able to work well as part of a team

Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
