Teaching Personnel are seeking to recruit a Religious Studies Teacher for a Secondary School in Hertfordshire!   

Teacher of Religious Studies
 Location:  Rickmansworth Area
Contract Type: Part-Time, 0.5 FTE (Maternity Cover, up to 12 months)
 Salary: MPS/UPS including Fringe Allowance
Start Date: September 2025

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Religious Studies Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school for a part-time maternity cover role. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support students in their spiritual and intellectual development, helping them gain a deep understanding of religious beliefs, ethics, and philosophies, and enabling them to reach their full potential.

About the Role:

As a Religious Studies Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, contributing significantly to the success of the department and school. You will foster a love for Religious Studies while creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

About the Religious Studies Department:

The Religious Studies department nurtures students’ natural curiosity and develops their critical thinking and evaluative skills to better understand the world. The curriculum spans Religion, Philosophy, and Society, taught across all key stages with consistently strong exam results.

At GCSE, students follow AQA Christianity and Islam as an option. At Key Stage 3, Religious Studies is studied once a week, exploring religion’s impact from multiple perspectives. Key Stage 4 statutory requirements are met through dedicated Core Religious Studies days throughout the year.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
